Pericardial Mesothelioma

Learn some facts about this deadly cancer

This cancer is sometimes confused with heart disease. Read more to learn why....

Do you know why you or a loved one has pericardial mesothelioma ?

Whenever one absorbs asbestos fibres into the body they remain there ! Our bodies aren't designed to eliminate them, hence the emergence of mesothelioma. These fibres lodge themselves in the pericardium and don't budge.

As is the case with other types of mesothelioma cancers, these asbestos fibres cause a thickening of the pericardium, thus exerting pressure on the heart chambers, and leading to undesirable pericardial mesothelioma symptoms such as chest pain and reduced cardiovascular function. This can lead to severe shortness of breath, one symptom of congestive heart failure. Doctors sometimes misdiagnose pericardial mesothelioma due to the similarities in such symptoms.

This is what may cause pericardial mesothelioma to go undetected, and misdiagnosed, for years !

Another reported, and very serious, side-effect is venal thrombosis. Another way of putting this is the clotting of the arteries. As you can imagine, this is a potentially fatal condition.
